Program Description:
NorCap China Internships provides an enriched, professional internship experience in China for university students and recent graduates. We are alumni of top US colleges living and working in Beijing. NorCap’s professional and social networks guide and support each intern’s immersion and development in Beijing.

NorCap China Internships provides an enriched, professional internship experience in China for university students and recent graduates. The company was founded by alumni of Yale and Cornell who who are living in China and focuses on providing professional opportunities in China’s capital that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to find coming from the US. NorCap's social and professional networks also guide and support each intern's immersion and development in Beijing.  You don’t necessarily have to have a “China background” to apply – we look for applicants who are open-minded, focused, and serious about making the most of any professional opportunity. Our positions run year-round and span a variety of industries, including government and public affairs, finance, consulting, marketing, public relations, engineering, technology, film, journalism, architecture, communications, and more. Whether you have grown up speaking Chinese, studied the language in school, spent time in China before, or are interested in expanding your horizons into the world’s fastest-growing country for the first time, we will place you in a professional environment where you can contribute and succeed.

NorCap’s programs include the following services and arrangements for students and professionals interning in Beijing: Internship: placement in an internship that fits your goals and skills Pick-up and hosting: NorCap staff meets you at the airport with your local cell phone SIM card, public transport card, and Welcome Packet Housing: arrangements for a home-stay with a Beijing family or an apartment in downtown Beijing (program fee includes rent; home-stay is encouraged) Language study: twice-a-week, one-on-one tutoring lessons throughout the duration of your program Welcome Banquet: connect with NorCap Staff, Ad Board, and other interns all living in Beijing Events: social, touring, and networking events for personal and professional development Visa: consultation on obtaining proper visa for travel to China (program fee excludes visa fees) Health and travel insurance: recommendations regarding reliable health insurance for your stay in Beijing (program fee excludes health insurance) 24/7 support and guidance from NorCap Staff
Setting Description:
When you arrive in Beijing, NorCap will arrange for a staff member to greet you at the airport and show you to your home-stay or apartment. This person will serve as a resource to you for any questions you have about where to go to eat, meet up with friends, relax, or sight-see. Once you land you will also receive a cell phone, map of Beijing, and contact details for your apartment as well as employer. Our goal with the greeting process is to ensure that after Day 1, you’re ready to settle in and begin your internship. After you’re settled in, NorCap will host a Welcome to Beijing Dinner to answer any questions you have and provide a chance to meet the other students and professionals interning in Beijing. Throughout the summer, fall, winter, or spring, we will also arrange activities for everyone to connect, catch up, and tour the city.
