Program Description:
Learn Spanish, Volunteer, or do both in Nicaragua! Earn credit from Seattle Central, accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. All program courses through Seattle Central are independent study courses designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities for undergraduate students and other individuals who undertake foreign travel. For Spanish language lessons, you will attend classes at Dariana Spanish School.They specialize in offering full immersions of the Spanish language and culture. Classes are offered for all levels of Spanish speakers, from beginner to advanced. All teachers are highly qualified, native speakers with college degrees. Dariana has quickly become the most accomplished language school in Leon through the quality of their education, their contribution to the community, and the friendly and welcoming nature of the staff. Volcano Boarding, Surf Lessons, Snorkeling, Beach trips, Overnight trip to Granada, Kayaking, Zip lining, Mangrove tour, Horseback riding, City tours, Fishing CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: As part of your learning experience, both optional and required cultural activities will be provided throughout the week. Prices can’t be beat – lunch and drinks for $2! HOST FAMILY: During your time in Nicaragua you will be placed with a family in León. Nicaraguans are some of the most warm and welcoming people you will ever meet and are sure to make you feel at home. Families will provide you with three meals a day during your stay. Staying with a local family will also enhance your Spanish learning experience and give you the chance to brighten the lives of the people in the community.
