Program Description:
This programme, recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), focuses on the development of knowledge in human geography within the context of advanced training in research. It provides advanced-level training in research skills, methods and theories to enable you to pursue a career in research, in either the academic sector or with public, private or voluntary sector organisations.


You complete 120 credits of compulsory modules and a research dissertation (60 credits). Generic research modules include: thinking about research; information skills; qualitative methodology; quantitative methodology; and dissertation preparation. Subject-specific modules include: philosophies in human geography; concepts in action; and planning geographical research.
