Program Description:
The course has been offered since 1980, spanning the USSR to Russia and Brezhnev to Putin. Any interested adult from any country is welcome. The variety of backgrounds and experiences of participants helps us all interpret what we hear and see.

Lectures, discussions and field trips explore the economic, political and social changes in Russia. The speakers are Russian, but the language is English, directly or in translation. In 2007, we'll visit Rostov Veliky and Yaroslavl . . . and St. Petersburg if the group desires.

Russia and how it manages its transformation are important to all of us. This intensive provides a close-up look at the changes and opportunities for getting to know Russians.
Setting Description:
Mid-April to about May 10 2007. We live at the Academy of Labor & Social Relations near the Olympic Park in Moscow, among the other students of that institution. Most probably, students will be assigned to work with our group so there is immediate contact with Russians.
