Students earn five credit hours at Missouri Western State University for the four-week program. Communicative language instruction takes place at the Centre International de Langue et Civilisation (CILEC) at the Université Jean Monnet: 20 hours of class per week. Students develop communication skills and study contemporary French culture. CILEC directs cultural outings and excursions in the Rhône-Alpes region, in Ardèche and in Provence, including museum visits, sporting events, cinema, etc...

Students live in true immersion and make great strides in their French language ability during the four weeks: living and eating with host families, developing communicative strategies in class and then applying their French knowledge in interacting with the "Stéphanois" in town and at home, students will become proud of their ability to speak French with confidence. The final two days in Paris provides the opportunity to visit the "must-see" sites in the City of Lights.
