MAHSA UNIVERSITY with years of experience running professional programmes in the areas of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, as well is now diversifying its portfolio in new imaginative ways to offer a dynamic and contemporary range of different professional programmes, incorporating ENGINEERING. This is to meet the ever growing demand for professional engineers both locally and globally. MAHSA has developed engineering programmes in the fields of great market demand and employability in modern technological and scientific areas, such as electrical & electronics, communication engineering, mechatronics (robotics and automation in manufacturing), automotive engineering and medical engineering. We know, engineers play a very important role in contributing to society and thus enhancing the way of life in the modern world. Engineers change the way of our lives. The engineering curriculum at MAHSA follows on the outcome-based learning and has been designed in such a way that students are taught the cognitive and analytical skills together with the relevant subject knowledge in their area of study. As such, our engineering programmes have met the approval requirements of the Engineering Accreditation Council of the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Apart from incorporating soft skills and communication skills, to further enhance their employability skills, our students are required to undergo an internship programme which has been included as part of the curriculum, whereby students spend a couple of months in industry at the end of year 3 of their study, where they are exposed to the real life practice as engineers. This will also enable students to come up with a high quality industry relevant Final Year Projects when they return to complete their final year back in the university. Also, the engineering programmes at MAHSA are designed to have a common Year 1 curriculum, which will provide more time for students to choose their field of study, starting Year 2 onwards, where programme specilaisation is introduced. To further add quality and international benchmarking to our curriculum, all the engineering programmes at MAHSA are quality assured by our UK partner in quality, Anglia Ruskin University at Cambridge & Chelmsford. Through this quality assurance arrangement, successful students would also receive an award from Anglia Ruskin University in addition to our MAHSA degree in engineering. In addition, to add a feather in the cap, once our programmes are fully accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council, successful MAHSA engineering graduands would be able to practice in a number of international organisations as the Board of Engineers Malaysia is a signatory to the Washington Accord.
