Program Overview

Program Description:

In the Portuguese Full Immersion program at Lusa Language School, students will be able to acquire and improve communicative structures in Portuguese and actively participate in tasks that will give them confidence in using the Portuguese language outside the classroom. This program combines the intensive course with private tutoring and allows the students to improve and work specifically in their areas of interests.

The end goal of communicating better in Portuguese is achieved through a focus on vocabulary acquisition and a systematic approach to grammar and speaking. During this course, students will have to take on the additional commitment to consolidate their knowledge through assigned homework.

The course will monitor the student’s communication skills and the ability to use Portuguese in real-life situations through the use of role-play, debates for intermediate and advanced levels, excerpts of films and music, and other interactive methods.

Students are actively encouraged to use their time wisely outside of the classroom and practice their Portuguese in real-life situations. This can often speed up the pace of learning within class time. After school, students may choose to continue to learn through optional extra-curricular activities run by the school.
