Program Overview

Program Description:
This program was developed to improve the support of clinical investigators who are committed to improving medical care. The M.S. in Clinical Research Methods can be regarded as a “value-added” degree for individuals already holding a health care professional degree: the program provides the skills needed to obtain independent funding, initiate and complete research projects and to expand the range of activities a health care professional can contribute to advance clinical medicine. In addition, the clinical researcher with formal training may act as a mentor for other health care workers who are interested in clinical research. The majority of courses are offered as 10-week evening courses, and students are required to complete a total of 24 credit hours in addition to a research project. Students typically finish the program in 2-3 years.
