Program Overview

Program Description:

Volunteers who choose to work with children in Malawi will be based mainly in the outskirts of Lilongwe, in communities facing extreme poverty. This program aims to help children who have in many cases lost their parents, who may have been living on the street, or whose parents struggle to provide sufficient care. 

The experience of helping vulnerable children, while often emotionally challenging, is a positive and life-changing one, and the children greatly benefit from the extra support and attention that they receive through this program.

Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks dedicated to caring for children, including playing games and arranging activities for the children, helping with homework and getting the kids ready for school. In addition, volunteers will be helping with food preparation, cleaning, etc.

Some experience working with children is preferred, as is a responsible, enthusiastic and compassionate attitude.

Setting Description:

All volunteers in Malawi are accommodated with one of our friendly local home-stay families, where they will provided with 2-3 home cooked meals per day. Free time can be used to explore this amazing country!

Cost:

LV Registration Fee + Programs Fees from just $400 for two weeks! USD. Included: Accommodation, 3 Meals per day, Airport Pickup, Orientation on Arrival and 24/7 In-Country Support. Not Included: Flights, Insurance, VISA, Vaccinations, Airport Transfers, In-Country Transport, and Spending Money.
