Program Description:

Our Teaching English program, based in the amazing city of Quito, aims to serve one of the poorest communities housing mostly migrant families coming from the surrounding countryside. The foundation with which we work strives for the integral development of the local children through projects of education, nutrition, health and recreation. 

Whilst English is widely taught throughout the country from primary school onwards, the special value of this work by volunteers is in delivering correct language usage from a native English speaker’s viewpoint. 

Volunteers on this program will help with tasks including working with children in primary school, teaching English and focusing on the children's self-esteem, helping children with their homework, giving reading and counting classes, and organizing the recreation time.

Language: Knowledge of the Spanish language will be advantageous, but is not a prerequisite for this program. Spanish lessons can be arranged during your placement in Ecuador, and are highly recommended.

Setting Description:

As with all of our projects in Ecuador, volunteers can choose to be accommodated in one of our shared volunteer apartments, or with one of our friendly local host families. In both options WiFi and laundry services are available. Free time can be used to explore this breathtaking city, or take trips into the amazon jungle!

Cost:

LV Registration Fee + Programs Fees just $380 for one week! USD. Included: Accommodation, Meals (in Homestay accommodation only), Airport Pick-up, Orientation on Arrival and 24/7 In-Country Support. Not Included: Flights, Insurance, VISA, Vaccinations, Return Airport Transfer, In-Country Transport, and Spending Money.
