Program Description:
Our Study Abroad summer schools give international students the opportunity to live and study in London for a short period of time, and offers students from different educational systems the opportunity to study and gain academic credit from a British university. You can also be admitted as a graduate student. This footwear design programme will encourage you to be as experimental as possible. It will inspire you to challenge preconceived ideas and opinions – in order to look at alternative interpretations, conclusions and design solutions. There are 3 key elements to the programme which will be integrated throughout the duration of your study.

Footwear design summer school: design Footwear design summer school: making Footwear design summer school: CAD Summer school: Paris fashion and culture trip By the end of this programme you will have: Ceated a pattern to cut leather uppers and linings in the clicking room Acquired a basic understanding of leather, its characteristics and how to lay patterns and cut/click correctly Assembled cut uppers and stitched these together An understanding of surface treatments and decoration Understand the preparation of components for the lasting process and (Making) of the closed uppers on the last Gained the ability to last the upper using traditional as well as hand making techniques and specialist machinery Fully realise and construct a product based on their original pattern
