Program Description:

Based on the work of Shakespeare and either Jacobean or English Comedy of Manners playwrights, this course is designed to deepen students’ engagement with classical texts and develop their skills.

Intensive and entirely practical, students will take technical classes in acting, voice, singing, textual analysis and interpretation, Alexander Technique, movement and physical theatre, stage combat and historical dance. Students will also take part in three workshops, rehearsing scenes and finally a play from classical texts and performing them to your peers. Participants will attend a variety of London theatre productions, including performances at Shakespeare’s Globe. The course includes a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon to see the work of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Additional Program Information

Minimum entry age is 18 and applicants must be fluent English speakers. Whilst we do not require you to meet any academic prerequisites for entry onto this course, your home university or college may do so. Entry is by application, not audition.
