- This program is offered in the Fall and Spring for 12 to 16 weeks. The program is hosted at Eotvos College and Peter Pazmany University. Subjects include: Anthropology, Arts, Civilization/culture, East European studies, Ecology/environmental studies, Economics, Field study, Fine arts, History, Hungarian language, Hungarian studies, Independent study, Literature, Political science/politics, Sociology
Lexia offers the opportunity to study the history, arts, politics & culture of Budapest, Hungary. Instruction is in English and Hungarian. Orientation abroad (3-4 days); travel to Transylvania in Spring term.
The Budapest program supports interaction and dialogue between Lexia participants and Hungarian faculty and students whenever possible. It also encourages participation in Hungarian community events, institutions and family life. No prior knowledge of Hungarian is required, as most coursework is in English. Language instruction during the first month of the program is taught intensively to help students develop the language skills and confidence to live and study in, and integrate themselves into, the Hungarian community.
