Program Overview

Program Description:
This LEXIA program offer students opportunities to explore Cuba's historical region, while confronting the daily challenges of a changing society. The program is hosted at the University of Havana. Subjects include: Anthropology, Arts, Civilization/culture, Community service projects, Ecology/environmental studies, Economics, Field study, Fine arts, History, Independent study, Latin American studies, Literature, Political science/politics, Sociology, Spanish language(int/adv)

This program integrates students into the local society in Havana. Social Medicine also available. Instruction is in Spanish.

The Havana program supports interaction and dialogue between Lexia participants and Cuban faculty and students whenever possible. It also encourages participation in Cuban community events, institutions and family life. Coursework is entirely in Spanish, helping to fully integrate students into Cuban culture and life.
Setting Description:
Only 90 miles from U.S. shore, Cuba offers an entirely different world from which students can learn much about politics, values, and urban development.
