Program Description:

Do you want to acquire skills which will enable you to actively contribute to a more sustainable development? Would you like to be able to do so on a global level with an international perspective? Studying Global Environmental and Sustainability Studies in an international setting you will acquire the knowledge to scientifically explain and assess global climate and environmental problems. Moreover, you will learn to understand the social values, guidelines and behavioral patterns which generate these problems, gain power of judgment and develop new approaches for a gentler processing of natural resources.

 

As a student of the major Global Environmental and Sustainability Studies you will explore the current sustainability challenges from the point of view of different disciplines to achieve a holistic understanding of the problems at hand.

 

All classes in this major are taught in English.

Setting Description:

0 EUR. no tuition fee, but a semester contribution of 364,33 € per semester (includes a semester ticket, a cultural ticket and city bike hire)
Requirements:
Applicants holding a German school leaving certificate that entitles them to enter university in Germany, applicants holding an IB-Diploma as well as applicants who have already passed a university entrance exam (Feststellungsprüfung) at a german preparatory college (Studienkolleg), may applay directly to Leuphana University of Lüneburg. If you don’t have a German university entrance qualification you have to apply through Uni-Assist, University Application Service for International Students in Berlin Applicants must prove their proficiency in English unless they are native speakers of English: • Internet-based TOEFL test with a minimum score of 97 points • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.5 in the academic version of the IELTS exam • CAE test (Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English) with a minimum passing grade of B • FCE test (Cambridge First Certificate in English) with a minimum passing grade of A • TOEIC *4 skills* test with a minimum score of 850 points in listening and reading and a minimum score of 340 points in speaking and writing
