Program Overview

Program Description:

The duration of this program extends between January 19 to April 24, 2015, a total of 14 weeks. Oral proficiency-based language teaching methodology using Al-Kitaab curriculum plus authentic supplementary materials. Weekly excursions to Lebanon's numerous historic and tourist attractions.

Fourteen-weeks total immersion spring language and culture, offering all levels of Modern Standard Arabic and Intensive Levantine Dialect plus one course in Principles of translation.

The Intensive Arabic Institute's Program at the Lebanese American University offers all levels of intensive courses in Arabic language and culture: Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level provides a total of 14 hours per week of intensive classroom instruction, which includes three hours per week of Lebanese Dialect (6 credits of Fusha and 2 credits of Lebanese Dialect, 3 credits of Arabic language and Writing Skills and 3 credits of Principles of translation).

Setting Description:

LAU's flagship campus in Beirut. Air-conditioned classrooms and dormitories, free internet access, swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor basketball court, internet access in dorm rooms.
