Program Description:

LCBI High School is a Historical high school for grades 10-12 located on the scenic banks of the Saskatchewan River in Outlook, SK, Canada. LCBI is a Christian boarding school in the Lutheran tradition that accepts students from all Christian backgrounds. The school has a history of over 103 years of excellence in academics, fine arts and athletics. Students will learn from accredited and dedicated teaching staff in a small and safe campus environment.

All LCBI teachers are university educated, accredited, and teach the approved Saskatchewan Curriculum. Teachers get to know each student as an individual and work to ensure that every student is being academically challenged and supported in their classes. LCBI is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and are working toward accreditation. The school hopes to intake the first IB class in 2016 for the two year program.

Students that attend LCBI often report feeling well prepared to transition into University life. Last year, the graduating class of 29 students received over $71000 in scholarships to the university of their choice. Alumnus of LCBI have gone on to study all in Universities across Canada and across the world. Students can become fully engaged in their learning at LCBI, taking part in the athletics program, extra-curricular fine arts offerings which include the Concert Choir and drama productions, as well as many leadership opportunities on campus and in the surrounding community.

Setting Description:

Outlook is a rural town in Saskatchewan, a prairie province of Canada, that is approximately 100km south of Saskatoon. The LCBI campus is located on the edge of Outlook on the picturesque banks of the Saskatchewan River. The campus buildings include Old Main, built in 1913, which functions as the Girls' Dorm, the boys' dorm, the chapel and cafeteria. The Classroom Building houses one of the largest gymnasiums outside of major Saskatchewan centres, a science wing with fully outfitted labs, a computer lab and classrooms with Smart Board technology.
