Program Description:

The basic philosophy of this department is to study the complex and mysterious phenomena of life through the use and improvements of modern molecular biological methods. Briefly, the applied fields related to our projected research include the etiology of various genetic and environment diseases and therapeutic methods, developments of new designer proteins and peptides, and the application of biological methods to preserve our environment.

Open to international students, all the lectures are conducted in English. All K-JIST students are exempted from tuition and receive a specified monthly stipend funded by the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology. The low student to faculty ratio of 7.2:1 allows students to carry out high quality research.
