These are opportunites given to enhance the student's career opportunities as well as offering nationally recognised qualifications. Unit standards are also given a credit rating, like IELTS which indicate the time it should take to learn the content. Each credit is estimated to take around 10hours of learning which includes prior knowledge, time to teach, time to initiate the information taught and time to practice the skill and sit the practical exam.
