Program Overview

Program Description:
The KIIS summer program in Argentina provides students with an opportunity to explore the landscapes and culture of one of the largest and most diverse Spanish-speaking countries in the world. A land of contrasts from the Andes mountains to the bustling port city of Buenos Aires, Argentina embodies the richness of both South American and European cultures.

All courses are designed to make Argentina the focus of discussion through hands-on learning opportunities. We also benefit from a number of guest lectures by local Argentine experts, including the opportunity to discuss and debate contemporary issues with Argentine students. No Spanish required.

Cost includes accommodations in Buenos Aires and Mendoza, some meals, transfers in Argentina to program sites, comprehensive medical insurance, and up to six credit hours.
Setting Description:
The program begins by traveling northwest to Mendoza, which is known for its wide city streets, open plazas, wine production, and relaxed atmosphere. Located at the base of the Andes, students have the opportunity to explore the geography and environs of Mendoza's spectacular region. After two weeks, the group heads to Buenos Aires, a fascinating urban landscape with famous streets, cafes, architecture, cuisine, music and dance. Group excursions include visits to visits to theaters, museums, outdoor markets, historic mansions, national monuments, parks and plazas, government ministries, and soccer stadiums.
