- My 4 years at John Cabot University07/13/13
After I finished high school, I knew that I did not want to end up in the same place everyone I knew from high school would be. I was looking for a unique experience that would prepare me for my future goals, and that is exactly what I found. I cannot
imagine having had my college experience anywhere else.

This was the first time for me going away for school and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I got to know Rome like the back of my hand and got to enjoy it so much more because of living among the locals. The people of Rome are very friendly
and welcoming. I brought my fiance with me on a recent return trip and because of where I went and things I did when I was at school he got to have more than the tourist trip. Studying abroad helped me learn about myself and opened my eyes to the world and gave me a desire to travel all over world.

- Awesome Experience09/11/12
JCU was a great program and was very organized. In the last two years since I studied abroad I can tell they are making great improvements, including the cafeteria, Giancolo residence, and weekend trip planning. I wish I could go back! Trastevere is
a perfect location to immerse yourself in Italian culture. The locals are very friendly and will try to help you understand the language/culture if you are open. It is also in cloe proximity to all the historical things in Rome.

I used this program despite the fact that it wasn't one of the recommended programs of my home university. I'm very, very glad I did. I met a wide range of people from all over the world and immersed myself in my classes, while still seeing a great portion
of Rome - and I was only there 6 weeks. Two and a half years later, I still keep in touch with my classmates. I have also been to Rome three times and got the most out of this experience. Professors are engaging. The school provides you with everything you need while still allowing you to be very independent.

- So many memories09/09/12
JCU is a great place to meet people from all over the world. If you're international yourself then you will easily immerse in with the international crowd. You won't feel out of place because everyone is going through the same experiences as you. Something
beautiful to look at and discover at every street corner. And you really never get lost in Rome. Amazing place to become more culturally aware.

To be honest, this was my only study abroad experience so I have no basis for comparison. That being said, my goal for studying in Italy was to spend as much of my time as possible doing things *other* than schoolwork. John Cabot has Fridays off (I went
during summer if that makes a difference) so me and my friends were able to spend three day weekends taking either day trips or whole weekend trips. My one teacher I had spoke very fluent English and was a very reasonable grader. The orientation group was great and I never felt lost or overwhelmed. FYI: there is air conditioning for those of you looking to do summer abroad. Italy was the one place I knew I had to visit. John Cabot provided very good apartments for living, with some students living near the Vatican and some in a neighborhood called Trastevere (where I lived). Trastevere really had a local feel and we felt like we were getting an authentic, non touristy experience. I fell in love with the stony streets and gelato shops. The historic fountains, piazzas, architecture was only a walk, tram ride, or bus away. I can't say enough about Italy. Just go. John Cabot enabled me to have the greatest experience yet in my young life.

I was worried the quality of professors, staff, and classrooms would not be very good but my experiences surpassed my expectations in every area and were very comparable to my home university in the United States. There is no better place in the world
to visit for an extended period of time than Rome. John Cabot is dead center in the Eternal City while still being its own unique escape from what might be imagined as the bustle of a major city.

I used API a third party program. The cost was great my parents were thrilled. Honestly for me JCU was not a great school academically but I was there to travel and study some basics. The great thing is that you can withdraw forever so no failing. But
be careful of how things transfer. The school seemed to me like an American high school, a nice one.
