- Four levels of Japanese language are offered. Instruction emphasizes speaking, listening comprehension, reading and writing.
Immerse yourself in the language and culture of Japan. Earn ten credits of Japanese language and participate in cultural activities during this intensive 9-week program. The Summer Intensive Language Program allows students to immerse themselves in Japanese life while studying a year's worth of Japanese language in one summer.
Includes tuition, program required excursions/field trips, books/course materials, and international health insurance.
- Setting Description:
- JCMU is located on the shore of Lake Biwa in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, less than an hour from Kyoto. Students may live in the JCMU residence hall or with a homestay. The JCMU student apartments are designed for double occupancy with two private bedrooms and a shared kitchen, dining area and bathroom. The residential building has wireless internet and features a laundry room, TV room, lounge and other amenities. JCMU arranges short- and long-term homestays with local families based on family availability and student preferences. Homestays, regardless of duration, offer students the best opportunity to meet and interact with Japanese people.
