Program Description:
Performer’s Physicality in Rehearsal 1st Session March 18, 19, 20 – 2011. Turin. IUGTE is inviting you to take part in the International Project under the guidance of Russian Theatre director, choreographer and teacher Sergei Ostrenko. Five practical and intensive workshop sessions, which will take place in Italy until the spring of 2012. Participants: actors of physical, dramatic, dance, musical theatres and circus performers - performing arts practitioners with professional stage experience working in various genres, techniques and styles.

Participants will become acquainted with Ostrenko Method of actor’s physical training, formed and inspired by the greatest figures of the Russian Theatre Tradition and the newest experiments in performing arts. The practical training is focused on the psycho-physical approach to the art of acting?relying on the teachings of Russian outstanding theatrical innovators - Vsevolod Meyerhold, Michael Chekhov and Konstantin Stanislavsky. Participants will explore the principles of Biomechanics, Psychological Gesture, Physical Action, Method of Active Analysis. Opal Course will develop in Italy through a chain of workshops with international participants. Places will be filled on a competitive basis. The work language is english and italian.
