Palmerston North, is a vibrant city with nearly half of its 80,000 residents under 25 years. With many great cafes, restaurants, cinema, live theatre and sporting facilities all within close proximity, this is an easy city to get around whether by foot, bus or bicycle. Bus services are frequent and free for Massey students, both to and from campus and all around town. For the more adventurous, nearby options includes river kayaking, equestrian facilities and some challenging mountain biking tracks, while ski fields, tramping, surfing, bungee jumping and numerous other outdoor pursuits are all within a day trip.

With an 80-year tradition of academic excellence, Massey University is one of New Zealand’s largest universities, with some 38,000 students enrolled both internally and via distance learning. Of the 20,000 students study on-campus, around 4000 are international students from over 100 countries. The Palmerston North campus sites focus on teaching and research in the fields of life sciences, veterinary science, agriculture, and horticulture, as well as seeking innovation in the sciences and technology.
