Heredia is a city that is emblematic of the Costa Rican lifestyle. It is located only a short distance away from San José, the capital city of Costa Rica, and offers many big-city amenities, but life in Heredia is decidedly relaxed, calm and enjoyable. The city showcases pleasant plazas, lush green spaces and parks, and friendly people enjoying their days.
Founded in 1985, the Universidad Latina - Heredia, formerly known as the UICR, is now considered to be one of the most prestigious universities in Costa Rica. Today, the school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees covering a wide area of practical sciences, education, and business related fields. At the Universidad Latina, students will take a combination of intensive Spanish-language courses and electives in English. Advanced and superior-level students will also be able to take courses with Costa Ricans in a variety of interesting subject areas. Service-Learning experiences are also available.

- The ISA office is located on the Universidad Latin-Heredia campus, making it a convenient place to meet with your directors, get help with school work, browse travel resources, and use the internet. Students will have access to all of the amenities at the university as well as the two other ISA offices located in San Jose.
