- Program Description:
Cusco is a city in southeastern Peru, situated high in the Peruvian Andes Mountains. Cusco boasts a rich cultural history, as the former center of the Inca Empire. The first Spaniards arrived in the 1530s, with Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro, discovering the city. Much of the architecture in present-day Cusco is a mix of Inca and Spanish influence. The city has been built around ancient landmarks and is surrounded by incredible ruins, including nearby Inca archaeological site; Machu Picchu.
The Universidad de Salamanca Cursos Internacionales en Cusco is located at the ISA Study Center, and was developed in partnership with the Universidad de Salamanca. The ISA Study Center can be found off calle Magisterio, a short ride away from Historic City Center. Students take classes at the study center with other ISA students, and classes are taught by local, visiting faculty. Students can take courses in Spanish, English and/or Quechua, in subjects including, but not limited to; culture, history, literature, political science and environmental studies. The ISA Study Center is equipped with wi-fi for students to access using their personal laptops and includes a computer lab for students to use throughout the day.Volunteer and internship opportunities available through ISA Service-Learning. Veritas and Gap Year Opportunities also available.

- Setting Description:
- The ISA office is conveniently located a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco. ISA staff will provide support during the enrollment process, assist with housing, and offer travel advice. Students can visit with the ISA staff, receive tutoring, utilize free Wifi and check the ISA bulletin board for upcoming ISA, community and cultural events.
