Program Overview

Program Description:

The vibrant coastal city of Brisbane (2,240,000) is situated on the bends of the Brisbane River and is surrounded by forested hills. From the famous beaches and resorts of the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, only about one hour away, to the beautiful islands found just off the coast of Queensland, this city is in the perfect location for any adventurer with a desire to travel. The warm summers and clear mild winters make Brisbane the ideal destination for study abroad students all year long. Within Brisbane, students will find that the city has an energetic, urban atmosphere where colonial buildings stand side by side with skyscrapers. Students will find that this city is host to many activities such as strolling through the open-air Queen Street Mall, enjoying the sounds of local bands in the Valley, or even viewing the local indigenous works of art found in the many art galleries around Brisbane. Past participants of ISA's Brisbane study abroad program have taken advantage of the many opportunities to become involved in university life, including many on-campus sports and clubs. This is a great way to meet Australian students who are typically friendly, laid-back and welcoming.
