Program Description:
Salamanca was the first program site where the initial group of ISA students studied abroad in 1987. Salamanca (pop. 156,000) is described by many as the ideal study abroad location because of the outstanding academic possibilities, assorted cultural opportunities, and proximity to the capital city of Madrid. It is one of the most magnificent renaissance cities in all of Europe.

In Salamanca, ISA-HS offers an intensive Spanish Language and Culture program at the University of Salamanca. Students attend classes in Spanish four hours daily. Classes are taught by university professors and attended by ISA-HS students onlyduring the program in June and by U.S. and other international students during programs in July and August.

The office serves as a convenient home base for students to relax, regroup, talk with the Salamanca staff, find information about the city, use the Internet and receive tutoring. The ISA-HS Salamanca staff members are dedicated to helping make the most of students' experiences abroad.
