If you want to make money, manage money or assist others in mastering their own finances, then one of Iona's Master's programs might be exactly the program for you. Finance: Quantitatively-focused program that centers on financial engineering -- the application of economic principles to the dynamics of financial markets, especially for the purpose of structuring, pricing, and managing the risk of financial contracts. Financial Services: If you are preparing for a career in the financial services industry, this is the program for you. Coursework will focus on global and domestic financial markets and institutions; commodity markets; and investment analysis. International Finance: Those interested in the monetary and macroeconomic interrelations between two or more countries and the dynamics of the global financial system will be most interested in this program. Public Accounting: Designed to comply with State and professional requirements, it provides both the mandated coursework and necessary knowledge to sit for and pass the CPA exam. Completion of this program will also reduce the mandated experience requirement for the awarding of the CPA from 2 years to 1 year. Degree Requirements for the MBA Program This program is designed for candidates who wish to pursue the MBA degree on a full-time or part-time basis. The various curricula require 57 credits before waiver and transfer credits are applied. Appropriate course work at the undergraduate and graduate level may be applied against curriculum requirements. There is a six-year limit for the completion of the MBA degree. A typical MBA student will take 45 credits and complete the program in three years on a part-time basis or two years on a full-time basis. Courses are offered on a trimester basis, with classes starting in September, November, March and two Summer sessions beginning in June and July. Each course meets one evening per week for a three hour class, 6:30pm - 9:30pm Saturday courses meet 9:30am to 1:00pm Courses conducted during the summer meet twice a week. Fast Track MBA Geared toward people who want to gain an edge in their chosen field, the Fast Track MBA shaves 10 months off the length of traditional MBA programs by offering courses in a sequence that guarantees a speedy graduation. Associate Dean Charles Cante explained, In todays financially-focused world every professional needs to have business knowledge in order to remain competitive and prosper. Whether its the new medical doctor, dentist, lawyer or psychologist trying to build a successful practice or the scientist or engineer who wants to position their discovery or an educator who wants to become an administrator, the MBA degree is an essential and positive driving force towards these ends. •Courses may be offered in an online, distance-learning format, in a traditional classroom setting, or in hybrid format, that utilizes both online and in-person class meetings. •Students begin their study during first summer term and complete the program after the second summer term the following year •Our Fast Track students are grouped as a cohort, moving through the program together to help build relationships for study, as well as networking opportunities. • Iona offers a strong network of advisers who help our students in all areas – from choosing a specialization to support services that ensure uncomplicated registration.
