A popular program for our volunteers, this program offers a very communal experience. Volunteers are accommodated in large homestays with local families, and this creates a great environment for networking in the evenings. However, most find that there is little downtime on this program, as volunteers will help at their placements from Monday through Friday, taking advantage of language lessons in the morning or afternoons, and then take off to explore the local cuisine, the city of Cusco, and all the amazing sites to see nearby. On the weekends, many volunteers travel to the well-known destination, Machu Picchu and can choose from a variety of treks and durations. There are several projects to choose from including Childcare, Teaching English, Special Needs, Medical, Jungle Conservation, Construction and Renovation, Animal Care, Spanish Service Learning Course, Holiday Experience, and a very unique Andean Immersion project. Pre-Med students are welcome on the Medical project, and those who are seeking a rugged, outdoor, and natural experience, should check out our Jungle Conservation and Andean Immersion projects.
