Many volunteers overlook this opportunity, but truth-be-told, volunteers are often pleasantly surprised by the nature of this program. Mexico seems to have a stigma attached to it, as people correlate Mexico with danger, drugs and dysentery. However, our program will shift these paradigms, giving a true experience of Mexican culture and way of life. Located in the quaint city of Merida, most volunteers will be surprised to find the west coast of the Yucatan to be suburban, family-oriented, and modern. This program is laid back and chilled out, just like the locals, so don’t expect to get anywhere too quickly. Slow down and enjoy the incredible moments of volunteering in the community, swimming in the cenotes (limestone water holes), or taking a bike ride into town. Visit our website to find out more about the projects and availability of this program, and be sure to ask about the new Maya Agriculture project.
See website for full program fee details.
