Program Description:

As part of Semester India Programs, IISAC has developed a Science Study Abroad program for US students at the prestigious KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

KIIT University (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) is located in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha on the Eastern coast of India. KIIT University is a multi-disciplinary University with unprecedented achievements. Study abroad participants enroll for a full-time program for a minimum of five courses, leading to 15 transferable credits. KIIT offers a wide academic arena for students interested in Engineering and Technology, Pre-Med and Medical Sciences, Pre-law, Business & Finance, Film &Media Studies, Fine Arts & Sculpture.

As part of the orientation, students discover Odisha covering Bhubaneswar-Konark-Puri.Additionally, a 7 day tour of Delhi-Agra and Jaiphur is also included as a part of the program. Through this 14 day discover India tour students will get an extra ordinary experience of India through IISAC. This semester program is also tailored with experiential and service learning opportunities by working with the tribal students in the nearby KISS institution (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences).

Setting Description:

Odisha is the 9th largest state in India by area; it has a history of over 2,000 years. The landscape of Odisha is dotted with numerous temples hence it is a well known pilgrim destination for Buddhists. The beautiful beaches, the myriad of tribal villages, the scenic coastal location and close proximity between northern and southern states expose students to diverse lifestyles while enjoying the breeze from the Bay of Bengal.
