Program Description:

If you’re looking for a short-term training program with great income potential in a health care setting, consider this.  Medical Coding and Billing Specialists work with physicians, insurance companies, legal offices, hospitals, clinic and rehabilitation facilities.  They identify diagnoses and medical procedures and assign numerical codes for billing and reimbursement purposes.  The demand for skilled Medical Coding and Billing Specialists continues to increase, especially as the number of aged patients climbs and insurance and healthcare compliance rules become more intricate.

Graduates are encouraged to take an industry certification exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). The National Healthcareer Association also offers a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) exam.  Graduates of this program are prepared to  seek  entry  level  employment in  hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices, dental offices, nursing homes, and insurance companies.
