Program Overview

Program Description:
The INSTITUTE for GLOBAL STUDIES makes ECUADOR dream internships come true! Work alongside top marine scientists; law firms; television stations; social workers; sports marketing gurus and many more! Our 90% placement rate on hard to find custom internships and global database of leading university researchers and top executives makes us the industry leader. IGS founder Dr. David Adams, a cultural anthropologist with twenty years of working one on one with students, has personally set up many of the internships during his world travels and research. The bigger the dream, the better the internship! 17 Countries.1 Dream.

Our film production internships work with both mid-level and independent production companies with the aim of giving interns as much hands-on experience in the full range of production as possible. The film houses that we use shoot documentaries, educational films, commercials, and even full length films. The location and duration will determine the available projects. Your experience in film will determine some of your job duties. However, we have chosen our hosts for their ability to provide meaningful work for all skill levels and to provide an immersion into the world of film making for our clients. Different locations offer different levels of specialization. We will work to determine your area of interest be it pre-production, production, or post-production and line you up with the best production company available. Job Duties Topic research Writing script Scheduling Assisting on the set Marketing and promotions Production advisory services Production equipment management Filming events Editing Administrative duties Assisting producer/director The Filmmaking process starts from a story idea, moves on to scriptwriting, shooting, editing, directing and distribution. Film production occurs in five stages: Development — the script is written and drafted into a workable blueprint for a film. Pre-production — preparations are made for the shoot, in which cast and crew are hired, locations are selected, and sets are built. Production — the raw elements for the finished film are recorded. Post-Production — the film is edited; production sound (dialogue) is concurrently (but separately) edited, music tracks (and songs) are composed, performed and recorded, if a film is sought to have a score; sound effects are designed and recorded; and any other computer-graphic 'visual' effects are digitally added, all sound elements are mixed into "stems" then the stems are mixed then married to picture and the film is fully completed ("locked"). Sales and distribution — the film is screened for potential buyers (distributors), is picked up by a distributor and reaches its cinema and/or home media audience.
