Program Overview

Program Description:
This program is offered to pre-medical, medical, nursing Para- medical and public health students and health professionals with an interest in international health. In this program, students are exposed to the health care system and facilities in a rural set-up, working directly with doctors and health care practitioners. Students can work on mobile health vans, rural clinics and hospitals as well as AIDS/HIV interventions. Additionally, field trips can be arranged to see leprosy projects and cataract surgeries. Students could also work with us to set-up health camps in rural areas to understand community health systems better.

Setting Description:
ISAC students have in the past undertaken successful projects in the following areas: -Iron Deficiency – Anemia Surveys -Village Nutrition Survey Reporting -Dental Hygiene Program -Aids HIV/How to Use a Condom workshops -Health and Hygiene Profiling in communities Students would be working under the guidance of healthcare professionals who would be their academic director
