Program Description:

Volunteering services can be rendered in any of the following areas: Teaching at government school, work with street children projects, give your assistance at a local orphanage, be involved in child care projects, be part of women empowerment initiatives, give a helping hand to on a medical and health care clinic, work towards spreading awareness on HIV/ AIDs prevention and care, your time is valuable for differently abled children, make time for teaching sports and physical education to children, be a member of immigrant community project’s team/ construction and renovation project’s team / slum area project’s team, work with animals – help elephant & camel owners with day today activities.

IECE offers memorable unique life changing experience in India while on a volunteering program. Participants serve local communities while staying at host families; they attend various cultural workshops like Henna Making, Indian Cooking, Yoga & Meditation and Indian dressing; visit places of interest like Temple visit, Spice market visit, Ayurveda centre visit; gain understanding on relevant topics like Development issues of today’s India & Role of women in Indian society; get introductory lessons in Hindi language and much more. Volunteer with us starting for a period of 2 weeks to 3 months.

Program is designed in a way to facilitate participants to acquire knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and develop new skills and experience Indian culture from close quarters. Program includes * Airport Pick up * Pre-departure information packet * Accommodation in guest house/ Host family/ IECE house * Three Indian vegetarian meals during the program * Volunteering Certificate at end of the program * In-depth orientation on arrival and 24x7 support of project executive * Participate in sessions related to your volunteering topic & India. For example: Development issues of today’s India & Role of women in Indian society. * Attend Cultural Workshops: Henna Making, Indian Cooking, Yoga & Meditation and Indian dressing * Special visits like Temple visit, Spice market visit, Ayurveda centre visit. * Arrangement of optional weekend trip, Language course, Ayurveda course and many more.

Setting Description:

Volunteer’s day is filled with multiple activities, working at project site during the day, evening attending cultural workshops, weekend sightseeing and trips to nearby tourist places. Getting invited for a cup of tea at relatives of host family or colleagues at the project site is a normal tradition in India. Going out with host family to Indian wedding, having discussion with them about Indian culture and family system are few of the activities which are invaluable. Volunteer should be minimum 18 years of age, open to learn and adapt to new culture. Volunteer program duration need to be minimum 2 weeks and can be done for as long as 6 months. Usually most our volunteers participate for 8 to 12 weeks in our volunteering endeavours.
