IES Abroad is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization that strives to deliver the highest quality education while simultaneously promoting the development of interculturally-competent leaders. Founded in 1950, IES Abroad now offers more than 90 programs in over 34 locations around the world.
Founded in 1962, the program combines a rigorous curriculum of French language study with a wide range of course offerings. Students are provided with a unique opportunity to focus on issues of the Francophone world with specialized courses in Art, Cinema, Literature, and Francophone History. Also available to students are enrollment options at local universitys and internship opportunities in the fields of the Arts & Museums, Business & Marketing, Education, and Non-Governmental Institutions.
The program offers 15-19 credits hours, comprehensive predeparture support, on-site student services staff, orientation, housing placement, internship opportunities, enrollment options at one of the prestigious IES Abroad partner institutions, organized cultural events, and extraordinary field trips to destinations such as Reims, Chantilly, Normandy, Giverny, Versailles, Fontainebleau & Vaux-le-vicomte, and Provins.
