Students typically register for the standard second year undergraduate program of study at the Courtauld for either a single semester or an academic year. Small-group instruction is at the heart of the academic experience. The program of study could include broad historical period coverage or more specialized and in-depth investigation of two periods and issues relating to two broader fields of art history. Areas could include Classical/Byzantine/Medieval; Renaissance; Early Modern; or Modern/Contemporary. Dependent on previous coursework, you may be assigned or be able to choose from a range of survey and texts and contexts courses. You may also wish to pursue independent studies.
