Program Overview
- Program Description:
Whether you approach writing as a future vocation or as a creative outlet, our courses help you discover and explore your voice and hone your craft. From short story writing and the graphic novel to digital communication and writing for the screen, our courses cover a wide variety of styles and genres. The required 1-credit Writing for the 21st Century Workshop is designed to tie these varied skills together, and this workshop can be combined with a range of writing-related courses, Irish studies courses, or an internship or service learning placement to create your 16-credit program. Participating in a writing-focused internship or service learning placement and accompanying seminar is a unique way to apply what you’re learning in your writing classes within a real-world setting. Each semester, an anthology of all types of student work will be compiled, and you'll also have the option of reading it in front of an audience.
We offer unique courses across many writing genres. All IES Abroad courses are taught by Irish and international faculty, and are designed to offer you a unique academic experience, combining the traditions of your home campus with the best of the Irish university system.
Founded in 1950, IES Abroad is a global, not-for-profit study abroad organization with 115+ academic programs in Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Latin America. To learn more about what we offer visit our website.
