Program Description:

The IES Abroad Intensive Acting Program gives you an intensive, practical approach to performance. Over the course of the summer, you will come to know Dublin's winding streets and unique charm through a variety of culturally enriching opportunities. The program offers enrollment at the acclaimed Gaiety School of Acting-National Theatre School of Ireland, housing in fully-equipped student apartments, and field trips throughout the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Designed for theater students seeking an intensive, practical approach to performance, this program lets you immerse yourself in a conservatory-style acting program. All courses are required and are taught at the Gaiety School of Acting-National Theatre School of Ireland and IES Abroad. Important note: A core value espoused by The Gaiety School of Acting-National Theatre School of Ireland is ensemble. This program is physically and emotionally demanding and all students participate fully in all aspects of the training process.

Setting Description:

Your journey begins in the cultural center (and the heart) of Ireland: Dublin. Just think, you’ll be studying in the City of Literature that’s home to such literary greats as George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, William Butler Yeats, and Samuel Beckett! Stroll around Dublin to see how the historic architecture blends with modern design. Enjoy the energetic music scene and lively theatre. And when you need to get away, you’ll discover outdoor adventures just a short train or bus ride away.

Scholarships Description:

IES Abroad offers $5 million dollars in need- and merit-based scholarships and grants that can be used toward an IES Abroad study abroad program. Apply online using our universal Aid Application, and we’ll pair you with the scholarships and grants.
