Program Overview

Program Description:

Designed for students who wish to pursue a course of biblical studies, focusing both on the Hebrew Scriptures themselves and on contemporary Biblical Scholarship. The program provides grounding in Biblical (as well as Modern) Hebrew and will enable students to specialize in one of two tracks: 1) The Bible: Cultural and Historical Context, and 2) The Bible and the Ancient Near East.

Setting Description:
From the hilltop of the Mount Scopus campus, the incredible panorama of Jerusalem unfolds. Medieval maps show Jerusalem as the heart of the world. Astonishingly, it remains there: the seam line where West meets East, the First World faces the Third World, and where Judaism, Christianity, and Islam meet.
