- The Ph.D. Program in Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) at Harvard Medical School is an interdepartmental program of the Division of Medical Sciences. The over 200 faculty members are drawn from five basic science departments at Harvard Medical School; Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Microbiology and Molecular Biology, Genetics and Pathology, as well as from affiliated hospitals, including the Massachusetts General Hospital, Children's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Beth Israel Hospital, and Brigham and Women's Hospital. BBS meets the needs of students whose interests bridge several disciplines by providing perspectives and approaches that are broader than those within individual departments.
