Program Description:

Our Community Development & Teaching Internship in Costa Rica allows interns to gain invaluable community development experience when you join an internship in the stunning coastal town of Quepos in Costa Rica. Your training will encompass leadership coursework; group training sessions; lesson planning; team management and teaching practises as you make a difference in this community by providing an education to children and adults while living in this stunning, culturally rich area. The internship is geared at developing your leadership and role model skills, allowing you to develop a variety of key soft and hard skills that will put you a step ahead of the rest of the pack. After a successful internship, qualifying candidates may be given the opportunity to work for GVI or selected partner organizations.

Setting Description:
Our projects are located in the beautiful town of Quepos, in the Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica. Quepos is about 157km south from the country’s capital city of San Jose and is known as the gateway to the world-famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Surrounded by palm plantations and rainforest, the town contains an array of wildlife with monkeys and toucans in plain sight most days.

Most people are eligible to join this internship, they just need to be able to speak English and be physically and mentally fit to join the program. A love for education and children is recommended.
