Program Overview

Program Description:

GSC offers Service-Learning Programs in Teaching English Abroad and Orphanage Care, as well as an Integrated Program in Thailand. Thailand programs are available throughout the year and can range from two weeks to six months or longer. Undergraduate and graduate students may also receive college credit for their participation in any GSC program.

All participants begin their program with a five-day cultural orientation and training. Thai language lessons are included in the orientation as well as discussions on Thai culture, and a tour of the local area. As part of the project training, volunteers will become prepared to transition into pre-arranged placements, where they will assist in implementing much needed services to the local communities.

A cultural immersion learning experience which will change your life and the lives of others! As a GSC Thailand volunteer, you'll have the unique opportunity to live, work, serve and learn alongside the Thai people. Also, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an included Bangkok tour, Thai language lessons, and excursions with fellow volunteers from all over the world as well as your own personal trips/adventures on weekends.

Setting Description:

Volunteers are based in Singburi, Thailand with GSC’s partner organization. Participants stay in newly constructed group housing facilities in a beautiful rural setting, providing an opportunity to share experiences with other volunteers from around the world. A weekend tour of Bangkok is also included at the start of all Thailand programs.
