- Assist the foremost children's charity working in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. Their goal is to find permanent workable solutions for children whose families are experiencing difficulties.
Their services are constantly subject to evaluation, auditing and modification based on the latest research outcomes.
The intern will be working at the Children's Family Centre. He/she will be primarily be based in the Childcare department assisting in the day-to-day care of 50 2-5yr olds from approximately 26 different cultural backgrounds and the majority from low income families. This will include helping organize and run all of the programs and recreational activities for the children. There will also be the opportunity for the intern to spend part of his/her time on other programs such as those for the homeless and disadvantaged teenagers. He/she will have a very hands on role, within which he/she will learn about various aspects of social work, child care, counseling and working with the community.
