Program Overview

Program Description:

This month long class certifies participants to be TEFL teachers giving them the opportunity to teach English at schools and organizations around the world! We are currently in the process of becoming accredited by the International TEFL Accreditation Council (ITEFLAC) so that your certification will be recognized internationally. Includes 100 hours of classroom instruction plus 20 hours of hands-on practical teaching experience over a 4 week course period.

Taught by Jennifer Jackson, Masters of Education & TEFL Certified.
After completing her Masters degree in Education at Assumption College in Massachusetts, Jennifer moved to Costa Rica 2017 to obtain her TEFL certification and then worked at a private school teaching English for two years. After multiple visits to Bocas del Toro, Jennifer had a dream to open a TEFL certification program on the islands and thus partnered with Give & Surf to make this dream a reality.

Packages:

TEFL certification plus additional volunteer teaching experience
Stay after your experience for any length of time to get additional hands-on teaching experience leading free English classes for locals. A great way to build your resume and get more experience under your belt.

TEFL certification plus traditional Give & Surf volunteer experience
Come before your class or stay afterwards and volunteer with Give & Surf including helping with our preschool and after-school programs and teaching English classes to children.

Package prices will be tailored to you based on your length of stay and accommodations.

TEFL Certification plus learn Spanish at Habla Ya Spanish School
Come before your TEFL course and be immersed in the local language and culture by taking Spanish classes and/or doing a homestay with a local family.

Cost:

$1,450 USD. Includes 120 hour, month-long certification course. Housing and activities available for an additional fee. Extension packages including learning Spanish, volunteering, and teaching English are also available.
