Program Description:

GIOBA Education (based in Prague) provides a broad portfolio of faculty-led study program options set in the Central European region - attractive for its rich history and culture, peaceful process of transformation from communist regime into a modern, dynamic business and entrepreneurial environment. Through our top-notch study programs and international consulting services we promote complex ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking, cross-cultural understanding, and networking at both the regional and international levels.

So, just to summarize what GIOBA Education offers: 1.GIOBA Customized faculty-led programs to Central Europe. Though many programs are Business focused, our range stretches from History and Culture, to Political and Corporate Communication, to the Fine Arts and Film studies to Arts, Design and Architecture. And because each program is completely customized, we can custom-tailor a program to fit your specific course needs. 2.A distinguishing part of our program experience are GIOBA's International Consulting Projects, which although are not required for each program, are highly encouraged. These projects allow students to partake in a hands-on experience with real European companies/organizations through a consulting form. The project assignments vary and include topics ranging from business/financial analysis or marketing strategy to Social projects helping socially excluded groups or Art projects creating costumes and setting the lighting of the scene to learning about Film making industry and theatre production in CE region. Quality results of student team work are carefully monitored by GIOBA and leading professor, and delivered in person to the client once in Europe. 3.Summer Internships in leading companies in Central Europe offering multi-tural working experience in multi-national teams. 4.What applies to all GIOBA activities, is the fact that our program managers are there with the group from start to finish (and of course throughout the whole preparatory phase), so the accompanying professors are afforded the freedom to focus on the educational aspects, and not the logistics of a faculty-led program.

GIOBA study programs include international consulting projects, service-learning opportunities, interactive lectures and workshops, corporate companies and institutional visits, and panel discussions, and of course cultural events and on-site visits to numerous UNESCO sights. Multidisciplinary approach in getting involved in the Central European region, its history, culture, society, politics, and business is a core of our intensive, action-learning study programs.

Each of our study programs must fulfill several criteria: 1. Compatibility with university curriculum and high respect for individual students needs and specializations 2. Strong focus on hands-on experience – about 80% of study time is created by interaction with local communities 3. Cross-disciplinary approach 4. Team work & critical thinking development 5.
