Program Description:

Career changes and provisionally certified teachers can earn initial teacher certification in our Urban Accelerated Teacher Masters (UACM) program or our Master's of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program. Both offer a Master's degree in addition to their initial teaching certificate. The M.Ed. and Ed.S. programs develop students skills collaboratively to improve instruction and leadership in education of students in Grades K-5. Teachers in these programs can also earn content area endorsements in reading, math, science, and literacy/Language Arts. The Ph.D. program prepares scholars in early childhood and elementary education for roles including basic and applied research, curriculum development, university-level teaching, and teacher education.
