- The professional certification program offered in Early Childhood Education at Georgia College and State University at the P-5 certificate level is intended for persons already possessing an undergraduate degree in education. The advanced level of certification is associated with the completion of the Master of Education degree in Early Childhood Education. This program extends and expands the study of the development of children in pre-kindergarten through grade five at an advanced level as outlined in the conceptual framework. Within the context of the masters degree program, candidates are exposed to a wide variety of information related to education and work with young children with particular emphasis on serving as mentors for beginning teachers,advocating for young children in the larger professional community, and conducting action researchin classrooms.
