Program Overview
- Program Description:
- Georgetown University's six-week summer program in Tanzania combines language classes and area-studies in Dar es Salaam with extended travel to Arusha and a 3-4 day safari in the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater Park.
For five weeks of the program, participants study intensive Kiswahili taught by experienced faculty. During that time, students will also participate in internships, selected based on each student's field of study and interests. Students receive a total of 7 credits for the program: 6 credits for the intensive Kiswahili studies and 1 credit for successful completion of the internship.
- Cost:
- Program fees include tuition, room and partial board, safari, group excursions, and round-trip travel to Arusha. The program cost does not include airfare to/from Tanzania, passport fees, vaccinations, any additional meals, travel to/from the university, and other individual expenses.
